"Venetian Villas for Europe" Award

It was presented last night (Saturday, September 20th) at Villa Pisani, in Stra, the Award "Venetian Villas for Europe". The ceremony at the conclusion of the Festival of the Venetian Villas organized by the IRVV, has been anticipated by the conference dedicated to the patronage with the lecture of Cristina Puglisi deputy director of the American Academy in Rome and by the concert of the pianist John Kamitsuka who performed, in the salon frescoed by Tiepolo, music by Bach, Frontini, Beethoven and Chopin.

The president of the regional Venetian Villas, Giuliana Fontanella, in the presence of local, regional and national authorities handed more than for 330,000 euro in checks, resources intended to contribute to the restoration.

Eight owners of villas were awarded (5 of the municipalities and 3 private) that have distinguished themselves for innovative design and excellence in the conservation of the Venetian villas.

There were three sections of the award.

For the first section "funding for conservation work of excellence" was awarded with 80 thousand euro the Municipality of Caldogno (Vicenza) for the project of restoration and conservative rehabilitation. Second prize of 55 thousand euro to Maria Rosaria Marzotto owner of Villa Trissino (Vicenza) for the restoration of the villa. Third prize of 50 thousand euro to the City of Montebelluna (Treviso) for the restoration of Villa Pisani in Montebelluna.

For the second section of the award "financing for an extraordinary intervention of conservation" the check will be given to the City of Mira: 100 thousand euro for the restoration of Villa Levi Morenos.

The third section of the award involves a contest for the "financing of innovative enhancement": 18 thousand euro to the City of Montorso (Vicenza) for the renovation of Villa Da Porto Barbaran; 15 thousand euro to Alberto Passi owner of Villa Tiepolo in Carbonera (Treviso); 12 thousand euro to the Municipality of Valdobbiadene (Treviso) for the recovery of Villa Piva; finally, 5 thousand euro to Christian Malinverni for a project to improve the interest of tourists towards the complex of villa Godi Malinverno in Lugo of Vicenza.

TONIGHT THE FESTIVAL OF THE VILLAS CLOSE IN ARQUA 'POLESINE WITH THE THEATRE

Tonight (Sunday, September 21TH), the curtain falls on the seventh edition of the Festival of the Venetian Villas, the show that since last September 10TH has told, in some villas of the Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia, the "Venice in mainland. From water to land: environment, landscape and accessible culture" thanks to the interest of the Regional Venetian Villas Institute and the support of the Veneto Region, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, and the Association Italian historic houses - Section Veneto, Venetian Villas and Castles and of the Association of Venetian Villas.

The last meeting was tonight Sunday, September 21ST at Villa Treves - Castle in Arquà Polesine (Rovigo). At 9 PM the company “La ringhiera” from Vicenza, in collaboration with Fita Veneto - Italian Federation of Amateur Theatre, will stage the play "The Good Mother" of Carlo Goldoni.
