Villa Pojana, Miniscalchi-Erizzo, Bettero, Chiarello

Via Castello , 41 - 36100 - Pojana Maggiore (VI)

Built in: 1563
Architect: Villa Palladiana
Environmental context: Agricultural
The Villa is commissioned to the Arch. Andrea Palladio from Vicentino Bonifacio Pojana, that belonged to a family that was very loyal to the Republic of Venice. Palladio designed the Villa at the end of the ‘40s, while the works ended in 1563. From the original project was erected only one colonnade; the Villa was finally ended only in the XVII century when the heirs of Bonifacio ordered to build a body on the right of the Villa that recalls the mouldings of the windows. The main floor has a big squared hall with barrel vault, from whose sides are developed the minor halls with different vaults and with the same characteristics of the ancient thermal spaces.
Excellences of the context: there are no particular sites in the nearbies.
Excellences of the Villa: frescos
The villa is a museum and is also used for cultural events and conventions.
